  1. I have recently started swimming with a masters swim program. this morning i saw a great bag that you can take into the shower with pockets for all your bathing products- shampoo, soap etc-it hangs from the shower head- the mesh bag drys within 1 hour-
this is a great way to take your showering stuff to the pool or gym!

I would like to tell you a story about the foam roller that you sell on your website. I have suffered terrible back problems since a work injury in 2007. I went to several doctors and had the usual routine of physical therapy and painful epidermal injections. These routine procedures had helped but I still was in terrible pain. By accident I had a friend who is a trainer and she showed me on the foam roller how I could use it to relieve hamstring pain ( which is also associated with the back) and out of curiosity, I rolled it starting from my neck all the way down my back to my feet, to my surprise I realized that it felt sooo good on my back. Since then I have bought my own foam roller and I use it every single day, and what a difference it has made in my life. I still have back problems, but my pain has considerably has decreased and I finally feel half human again!! I can’t say any bad things about this awesome product!! buy it you will not be sorry!!

Do you have a “Contact Us” section on your website? If so, I’m missing it completely. Have you thought of adding a section for people to find local fitness buddies? It would be a great way to help build this community of women, and of course, it will help people get fit! People could train for an upcoming event together (ie, the Santa Cruz 10K/Half Marathon April 11th), or just have a regular workout partner that they can count on. To help match people up, you might have a grid with types of activities, level of fitness, and times/days available. An added bonus might be a short bio on each person, including age, occupation, other hobbies, etc. Just a thought… good luck with your launch!

Hi Lynn..thanks so much for your comment. Based on your feedback I added a contact us page on the home page..I only had it on the shopping cart. I love your idea of women finding one another through http://www.bodibuddie.com to train and work out. There are sites on the web that do help people find workout partners. One that I like is http://www.exercisefriends.com For now, I will suggest that local women write in to the web site and see if anyone else responds. As we get going, we could feature women looking for exercise partners on the site with bios, interests, etc. I hope you can make the launch event… we will be posting the location address this week!

I work at a desk job where I sit for 8 hours a day. By law, you are allowed two 15 minute breaks so I grab a co-worker and we power walk during our breaks. It gets us out of the office and we get some wonderful fresh air and a chance to de-stress for a few minutes. We try to take different routes each time and have ended up meeting some of the people at the businesses near us. It really helps you get through the day.

Hi Wendy! Thanks so much for sharing your bodibuddie story! I am really proud of you and your women friends for walking to reduce stress vs. eating donuts! You are a role model for so many women who work at desks all day and need to reunite with their bodies during short but productive breaks. Health = Wealth.

When I wanted to get back in shape after I got married, I heard about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training.

I joined, committed to fundraising, and–with the help of a wonderful coach, dedicated metors and delightful teammates–went from couch potato to finisher of the Nike Women’s Half Marathon.

Team in Training gave me the tools I needed to get active … and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from blood cancers.

Nope, I’m not a LLS staff member … just someone who considers herself astoundingly lucky to have participated in the program! I recommend it to friends and family every chance I get.

    • BodiBuddie says:

Hi Stephanie! I love your story! Way to go and congrats on your success with training and finishing your Half Marathon. I have trained with women in-training with LLS from time to time and I am inspired by the dedication of these women many who have never participated in a sports competition or even been physical before. When you push yourself and achieve your goals physically it gives you a sense of self-esteem that radiates through all parts of your life experience. Please write again and give us more details about how we can get involved to help others while getting fit.
